El Diablo x Rachel Alexandria

What's this? An actual breeding? lol I know I know, I never do breeding arrangements. I think out of all the stable owners in the HARPG I'm one of the least interested in breeding. But I've got a few to do for this in game year.

When I saw that *thunderjam1992 only had her awesome thoroughbred stallion El Diablo open for breeding for a little while longer I knew I had to snag a slot. My only racing mare is Rachel but at the time she was still active in racing. So I asked TJ if I could wait to do the actual breeding until after she was retired, which she is now so here it is!

I really don't think I did Dee justice... and this whole picture kind of blows but I really had no inspiration for something creative. Dee is supposed to be a real ladies' man but Rachel really isn't much of a lady lol and this is her first time being bred so I tried to make her a little unsure of Dee while he looks pretty interested, but I have no idea how well I pulled that off.

Rachel had been retired for a few months now and the young mare had seemed to enjoy the respite at first but had predictably grown bored soon enough. She'd rile every horse in the pasture with her into a race around the fence line and grew visibly aggitated when she would see Amos being lead out to the track to be worked. Rachel was still worked as well, just because she was retired didn't mean we wanted her to get fat. But she'd always been difficult to keep weight on and with the coming plans we had worked her far less and fed her a good bit more in preparation, finally managing to get her weight up to a good level so that she wasn't just pure skin and lean muscle. Once the foal was born and weaned we planned to retrain her for some other sport, as we all knew Rachel would never be happy just ambling about the pastures all day.

But for now the priority was waiting in one of the back pastures, which were more private and best for live cover breedings. Red lead Rachel back around the main building, the mare feeling a little frisky as she always did after being cooped up in her box all night, and Red had to keep yanking his sleeve out of her mouth and pushing her off of him as she had a habit of trying to step on people's feet in this kind of mood. She stopped trying to smash Red's toes though as a neigh ripped through the air and Red could only feel relief as the mare's attention went to a tall black stallion standing in the pasture they were nearing. He felt Rachel balk a bit beside him but he tugged her forward, amused by her reaction. Rachel had a bit of a chip on her shoulder, it was funny to suddenly see her so unsure of herself.

Red nodded to the groom from BCC and Kasey as they stood talking beside the gate, though they paused their conversation to help Red open the gate and persuade Rachel to go through, closing and locking it behind her as Rachel took off, obviously just wanting to get away from this new comer, but he was hot on her heels and after a moment Rachel was racing him instead of running away. When they finally stopped Rachel didn't look quite so unsure or standoffish but it was obvious she wasn't entirely sure what to make of this new stallion and what was going on.
